Durga Puja
Durga Puja is a major Hindu festival celebrated in the State of West Bengal India and Bangladesh. It is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga, who symbolizes power and triumph of good over evil. The festival lasts for ten days, with elaborate rituals and festivities. The significance of Durga Puja lies in the belief that Goddess Durga visits Earth during this time to bless her devotees and rid the world of evil forces. Recognising its immense cultural value, Durga Puja was declared as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, in 2021.

Our purpose in commemorating this auspicious occasion is to honor and seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, and the arts. We extend a warm invitation to all Bengalis, including those from Bangladesh, to join us in celebrating this joyous event. The festivities revolve around setting up an elaborate altar adorned with flowers and decorations, where we offer prayers and seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswati. The celebration also includes cultural performances, with a special focus on showcasing the talents of our community members, particularly the younger generation. Through the celebration of Saraswati Puja, we aim to promote the pursuit of knowledge, creativity, and cultural preservation within our community.
